Plan Like Your Year Depends On It

The Holidays have come and gone and in the Twin Cities - home base of Incredible Content, chilly, not to mention downright inclement weather, is perpetually right around the corner. It’s easy to succumb to the winter blues.  All the more reason to have plans in place, or start making them.

Having things to look forward to is especially crucial, not only in January, but throughout the year, to maintaining a positive mindset. These milestones can run the gamut from meeting a friend for coffee to, money and time permitting, attending a concert or traveling. What matters is that you plan for them.

Your business is no different. Having documented milestones in place can help you reach your business and communications goals plus maintain and enhance employee morale. That’s why you need to plan like your year depends on it.

Set a goal and stick to it

Businesses that don’t tie a goal or objective to their content don’t stick with creating it. While this seems pretty intuitive, you’d be surprised how many businesses basically develop content just for the sake of it or in reaction to something beyond their control.

Monitor and engage

You have a ton on your plate and we get it feels rewarding to check a task off the To Do list and move on to the next. But don’t take this “onward and upward” attitude with your content. Pause to monitor what your company shares to see who is reacting to it and what they’re saying. And be sure comments, questions, and or feedback don’t go unanswered.

Adjust and refine

We all know that the days are long but the years are short. While it’s important to plan ahead, be cognizant of not getting too far ahead of yourselves. We recommend developing a content calendar for one quarter and then adjusting and refining content along the way.

Let’s talk

At Incredible Content, we have a yearly planning development and implementation program called The Roadmap to the 7Cs. Contact us and let’s talk more about it.
